The animated feature film Tales from the Magic Garden, inspired by the book Of Unwanted Things and People by writer and playwright Arnošt Goldflam, was presented in a sneak preview at the French market Cartoon Movie, which took place this March in Bordeaux. The presentation was led by two of the film’s producers, Martin Vandas and Jean-Francois Le Corre, joined by Jan Naszewski from New Europe Film Sales.

Three kids spend the night at their grandpa’s house. To fill the silence after losing their grandma, the family’s storyteller, they create their own stories and discover the power of imagination. This uplifting stop-motion film celebrates creativity and its healing magic.

The film was selected for the Generation Kplus competition section at this year’s Berlinale and will be released in Czech cinemas this fall, distributed by Pilot Film.

The film was directed by David Súkup, Patrik Pašš, Leon Vidmar, and Jean-Claude Rozec, and is the result of a co-production between four countries—Czech Republic, Slovakia (Artichoke), Slovenia (ZVVIKS), and France (Vivement lundi !). The Czech producers are Alena and Martin Vandas from Maurfilm.
