Producer Martin Vandas came in 2019 with the idea of supporting student films in their distribution. Putting together three short films from three Czech film schools (FAMU, Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM) and University of West Bohemia in Pilsen), a feature Three Voices was made. In addition to the classic route to distribution (animated film festivals, friendly cinemas, cinema-cafés) there were various other events with an additional programme and/or interactive exhibitions of the puppets and props from making the shorts.
A follow up FOUR VOICES will try to continue in the same vein as this successful project. It will introduce these short films:
Mum Is Always Right – directed by Marie Urbánková (UMPRUM)
Forgive – directed by Alžbeta Mačáková Mišejková (FAMU)
Weeds – directed by Polina Kazak (FAMO – Filmová akademie Miroslava Ondříčka v Písku)
Whatman – directed by Nika Zinověva (FMK TBU Zlín)
The producers of Four Voices are Mária Moťovská and Jiří Pecinovský.
The project was financially supported by the Czech Film Fund.
