We are thrilled to share that I Died in Irpin, directed by Anastasiia Falileieva, has won the International Competition at the LINOLEUM Contemporary Animation and Media Art Festival. This marks a historic moment as it is the first time a Ukrainian film has secured the top prize in this international category of the festival.

I Died in Irpin is a poignant animated short film co-produced by the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Ukraine. It tells a harrowing yet deeply personal story of survival. The film’s narrative revolves around the experiences of Falileieva and her boyfriend, who fled Kyiv on February 24, 2022, and spent ten intense days in the blockaded city of Irpin.

They managed to escape with the last evacuation convoy, but the profound sense of loss and survival has remained with Falileieva since then.
